Shizuoka Prefecture is home to Mount Fuji, the tallest mountain in Japan.
From Miho no Matsubara, a beach regularly lapped by foamy waves that put one in mind of a beautiful Japanese painting, to Lake Tanuki, which reflects an inverted image of Fuji’s majestic snow-covered grandeur, Shizuoka has no end of gorgeous sights with Mount Fuji as a backdrop.

In Shizuoka City, there is an area known as Strawberry Beachline (Ichigo Kaigan-dori), where strawberries are grown with a special method called stone wall strawberries, using the rocky mountain slope, and you can enjoy the special Shizuoka brand strawberries known as Aki-hime and more!
You can also have a soak in Shizuoka’s famous hot springs, with particularly noteworthy ones like Atami and Shuzenji on the Izu Peninsula, and baths in the vicinity of Mount Fuji where you can be revitalized by the fantastic scenery. There are also no end of hot springs in the central area where high-class baths dot the landscape from the seaside up into the mountains, or the western area where you can take a refreshing bath as you look out on the sea at Enshunada or Lake Hamana!
