The home ballpark of the Chiba Lotte Marines, now furnished with all the latest equipment
Commonly known by the moniker “Chiba Marine Stadium,” this multipurpose stadium is located inside Chiba Prefectural Makuhari Seaside Park in Chiba City’s Mihama Ward. The stadium is the home base of the Pacific League’s Chiba Lotte Marines baseball team. The size of the ground is 99.5 m in both wings and 122.0 m in the center, with a seating capacity of 30,118. It is a major league-grade stadium that meets the conditions of the official baseball rules.
* For 10 years beginning on December 1, 2016, the naming rights to the stadium belong to Start Today Ltd. (now ZOZO, Inc.), and the stadium has been renamed to “ZOZO Marine Stadium.”
The stadium is noted for its up-to-date facilities throughout the ballpark. Instead of the lighting towers traditionally used in baseball stadiums, ZOZO Marine Stadium uses LED lighting circle lines in the eaves above the seating area. The artificial turf was specially designed for baseball using the latest technology, allowing for a feeling that is near-identical to that of natural grass. The spectator seats are generously sized for a comfortable baseball experience, allowing fans to enjoy the passionate sport to the fullest. The stadium is also frequently used as an event venue, hosting live concerts by various artists, music festivals, and more. It is located about 15 minutes on foot (or 6 minutes by bus) from Kaihimmakuhari Station on the JR Keiyo Line. It is also 15 minutes by bus from Makuhari Station on the JR Sobu Line, 20 minutes by bus from Makuharihongo Station on the JR Sobu Line and Keisei Chiba Line, and 30 minutes by bus from Inage Station on the JR Sobu Line.
