Old waterfront warehouse

Old warehouse used as a shopping mall and conference center

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, or Aka-Renga Soko in Japanese, is a uniquely historical – and strikingly Western – addition to the Yokohama cityscape. This well-known fixture along the Yokohama waterfront is filled with numerous shops and restaurants. With beautiful bay views and dozens of stores, visitors will love this Yokohama landmark that is part history, part shopping and wholly fun.

Split over two separate sites, the Red Brick Warehouse in Yokohama has quite the history behind it. Originally built as Customs Inspection Offices for shipping along the bay during the early 1920s, the buildings were re-opened in 2002 as a commercial facility. Since then, the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse has become a leading destination for shopping, dining and events in the city.

The warehouses are not just about retail therapy – although the 40+ stores will certainly keep the shopaholic happy. The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse 1st building includes a 300-seat performance area, as well as multi-purpose space for the hosting of exhibitions and cultural events. The 2nd Building has a range of eating options, including one of the best breakfast restaurants in Yokohama.
Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse – the city’s premier location for shopping, dining or enjoying unique events on the waterfront – is an essential stop-off on any trip to the city.

Opening Times
Opening times vary between the buildings, with the 1st building opening from 10:00 to 19:00 and the 2nd building opening from 11:00 to 20:00.
