An Amusement Island Bathed in the Ocean Breeze
Experience a variety of fun activities, from dolphin performance to shaking hands with otters!
Located on an artificial island in Yokohama City’s Kanazawa Ward, the Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise complex is an amusement island featuring one of the largest aquariums in Japan and 16 other types of attractions. The island is a popular destination along the Seaside Line, which offers easy access from Yokohama along the Tokyo Bay shoreline.
Four aquariums make up the Aqua Resorts aquarium complex, each with a unique theme. The largest—Aqua Museum—features 12,000 animals from 700 species. Visitors can enjoy an “underwater” walk through the aquarium’s Aqua Tube and sea lion and dolphin performances at the Aqua Stadium. Dolphin Fantasy is a new style of aquarium that will give you a whole new perspective on the world of dolphins. Fureai Lagoon, Aqua Resort’s third aquarium, gives you the chance to shake hands with otters and rub the heads of beluga whales, while Umi Farm, the fourth aquarium, provides marine education and hands-on fishing experiences.
Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise also features a wide variety of rides, from a thrilling roller coaster that thunders out over the sea to rides designed just for kids. You’ll also find fast food establishments, cafes, restaurants, and a shopping mall on the island.
