A multipurpose facility with concert halls and galleries that can be used for all kinds of events
It has a direct connecting passageway to JR Shimizu Station, is within walking distance of Shimizu Port, and its stylish appearance really makes it stand out. Designed by renowned architect Fumihiko Maki, known for his work on Makuhari Messe in Chiba and Hillside Terrace in Tokyo, it is noted for its modern design that makes abundant use of glass. The connecting passageway that leads into the 2nd-floor lobby of the building has an open structure that lets you look out on the port as you walk through.
Marinart has a Large Hall (1,513 capacity) and a Small Hall (292 capacity), along with a gallery for general use and a rehearsal room that can be used for orchestra rehearsals, presentations and more. It hosts musicals, concerts and live performances by popular musicians, and the gallery often features art exhibits.
The Large Hall’s foyer offers a relaxing atmosphere where concert-goers can bask in the afterglow of performances. Meanwhile, the lobby is a comfortable space and has plenty of room, often drawing in travelers passing by. The halls and gallery are all available for reservation, with availability being determined by raffle one year in advance, after which point reservations are made on a first come, first served basis.
