Bustling transport hub

Modern bustling transport hub with great shopping

Shinagawa Station is one of the busiest transportation hubs in Tokyo City. At any time of day, you’ll find it heaving with travelers on their way to destinations throughout the capital and further afield. It’s fully equipped with an array of conveniences to ensure that traveler’s needs are met, no matter their destination.

Shinagawa was the first stop on the Tokaido Road, a route dating back to the historic Edo Period that linked Tokyo with Kyoto. It has long been a crossroads for travelers, and today connects important transportation lines like the Tokaido Shinkansen, Yamanote Line, and rail connections to Tokyo’s airports. The station is also a bus terminus, and you’ll find a number of overnight buses departing from Shinagawa to destinations throughout Japan.

The station and its immediate surroundings have recently undergone a makeover. High-end shops like the Atre Department Store are included in the new sleek environment. For foodies, Shinagawa Station ramen is world-famous, and you’ll also find an assortment of donburi (rice bowl) meals.

With its central location, visitors need only step out the doors of Shinagawa Railway Station to easily reach shopping malls and the waterfront attractions of Tokyo Bay.
