The view of Mount Fuji through the five-storied pagoda
In spring time, people flock to the park to see the flowers.
Located halfway up Mount Arakurayama. The view of Mount Fuji through the five-storied pagoda (Chureito) in the grounds of the park is absolutely picturesque. It is also famous for its cherry blossoms in mid-April and autumn colors in early November. In spring time, people flock to the park to see the flowers.
The Chureito Pagoda built in 1963 as a peace memorial is a 30-minutes’ walk from Fujiyoshida, close to Shimoyoshida station. Be ready to climb close to 400 stairs but the effort is definitely worth it! Once at the top you will enjoy one of the best views on the tallest mountain in Japan, plus, if you are lucky, you will get the chance to see wedding-couples taking pictures in their ceremonial clothing.
Make sure to go behind the Pagoda to get the best shot for your SNS fans. It can be quite crowded, so head there as early as possible to get a clear shot of Mount Fuji.
