Culture and art complex
Art complex with museum, theaters, and concert hall
Anyone with an interest in the arts will be pleased to find many of Nagoya City's cultural facilities in the Aichi Arts Center. This large complex combines an art museum, theaters, and a concert hall and offers exciting events year-round.
The center features an impressive twelve levels above ground and five below, housing three different performance venues which vary from intimate to grandiose. On the 10th floor is the museum, where you can enjoy the work of famous artists like Gustav Klimt, Pablo Picasso, and Henri Matisse, as well as Japanese artists like Yuichi Takahashi and Sotaro Yasui. The building is also home to the Aichi Prefectural Library, Aichi Prefectural Arts Theatre, and the Aichi Arts Foundation, making it the heart of cultural enrichment in the city.
In between viewing the art exhibits, why not get a bite to eat in one of the many restaurants or cafes within the center? From the Wolfgang Puck Restaurant & Cafe on the same floor as the museum, to the Coffee Shop Ars located on the 2nd floor underground, you can relax and enjoy your experience in Nagoya's cultural hub. The modern Oasis 21 is also located just outside, if you want to experience some Nagoya shopping during your visit.
